Polluting pets: the devastating impact of man's best friend

Got to wonder what planet these lefties come from.

by Isabelle Toussaint and Jurgen Hecker Isabelle Toussaint And Jurgen Hecker

PARIS (AFP) – Man's best friend could be one of the environment's worst enemies, according to a new study which says the carbon pawprint of a pet dog is more than double that of a gas-guzzling sports utility vehicle.

But the revelation in the book "Time to Eat the Dog: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living" by New Zealanders Robert and Brenda Vale has angered pet owners who feel they are being singled out as troublemakers.

The Vales, specialists in sustainable living at Victoria University of Wellington, analysed popular brands of pet food and calculated that a medium-sized dog eats around 164 kilos (360 pounds) of meat and 95 kilos of cereal a year.

Combine the land required to generate its food and a "medium" sized dog has an annual footprint of 0.84 hectares (2.07 acres) -- around twice the 0.41 hectares required by a 4x4 driving 10,000 kilometres (6,200 miles) a year, including energy to build the car.

To confirm the results, the New Scientist magazine asked John Barrett at the Stockholm Environment Institute in York, Britain, to calculate eco-pawprints based on his own data. The results were essentially the same.

"Owning a dog really is quite an extravagance, mainly because of the carbon footprint of meat," Barrett said.

Other animals aren't much better for the environment, the Vales say.

Cats have an eco-footprint of about 0.15 hectares, slightly less than driving a Volkswagen Golf for a year, while two hamsters equates to a plasma television and even the humble goldfish burns energy equivalent to two mobile telephones.

But Reha Huttin, president of France's 30 Million Friends animal rights foundation says the human impact of eliminating pets would be equally devastating.

"Pets are anti-depressants, they help us cope with stress, they are good for the elderly," Huttin told AFP.

"Everyone should work out their own environmental impact. I should be allowed to say that I walk instead of using my car and that I don't eat meat, so why shouldn't I be allowed to have a little cat to alleviate my loneliness?"

Sylvie Comont, proud owner of seven cats and two dogs -- the environmental equivalent of a small fleet of cars -- says defiantly, "Our animals give us so much that I don't feel like a polluter at all.

"I think the love we have for our animals and what they contribute to our lives outweighs the environmental considerations.

"I don't want a life without animals," she told AFP.

And pets' environmental impact is not limited to their carbon footprint, as cats and dogs devastate wildlife, spread disease and pollute waterways, the Vales say.

With a total 7.7 million cats in Britain, more than 188 million wild animals are hunted, killed and eaten by feline predators per year, or an average 25 birds, mammals and frogs per cat, according to figures in the New Scientist.

Likewise, dogs decrease biodiversity in areas they are walked, while their faeces cause high bacterial levels in rivers and streams, making the water unsafe to drink, starving waterways of oxygen and killing aquatic life.

And cat poo can be even more toxic than doggy doo -- owners who flush their litter down the toilet ultimately infect sea otters and other animals with toxoplasma gondii, which causes a killer brain disease.

But despite the apocalyptic visions of domesticated animals' environmental impact, solutions exist, including reducing pets' protein-rich meat intake.

"If pussy is scoffing 'Fancy Feast' -- or some other food made from choice cuts of meat -- then the relative impact is likely to be high," said Robert Vale.

"If, on the other hand, the cat is fed on fish heads and other leftovers from the fishmonger, the impact will be lower."

Other potential positive steps include avoiding walking your dog in wildlife-rich areas and keeping your cat indoors at night when it has a particular thirst for other, smaller animals' blood.

As with buying a car, humans are also encouraged to take the environmental impact of their future possession/companion into account.

But the best way of compensating for that paw or clawprint is to make sure your animal is dual purpose, the Vales urge. Get a hen, which offsets its impact by laying edible eggs, or a rabbit, prepared to make the ultimate environmental sacrifice by ending up on the dinner table.

"Rabbits are good, provided you eat them," said Robert Vale.

Blizzard Dumps Snow on Copenhagen as Leaders Battle Warming

By Christian Wienberg

Dec. 17 (Bloomberg) -- World leaders flying into Copenhagen today to discuss a solution to global warming will first face freezing weather as a blizzard dumped 10 centimeters (4 inches) of snow on the Danish capital overnight.

“Temperatures will stay low at least the next three days,” Henning Gisseloe, an official at Denmark’s Meteorological Institute, said today by telephone, forecasting more snow in coming days. “There’s a good chance of a white Christmas.”

Delegates from 193 countries have been in Copenhagen since Dec. 7 to discuss how to fund global greenhouse gas emission cuts. U.S. President Barack Obama will arrive before the summit is scheduled to end tomorrow.

Denmark has a maritime climate and milder winters than its Scandinavian neighbors. It hasn’t had a white Christmas for 14 years, under the DMI’s definition, and only had seven last century. Temperatures today fell as low as minus 4 Celsius (25 Fahrenheit).

DMI defines a white Christmas as 90 percent of the country being covered by at least 2 centimeters of snow on the afternoon of Dec. 24.

The Fiction Of Climate Science

The Fiction Of Climate Science
Gary Sutton, 12.04.09, 10:00 AM ET

Many of you are too young to remember, but in 1975 our government pushed "the coming ice age."

Random House dutifully printed "THE WEATHER CONSPIRACY … coming of the New Ice Age." This may be the only book ever written by 18 authors. All 18 lived just a short sled ride from Washington, D.C. Newsweek fell in line and did a cover issue warning us of global cooling on April 28, 1975. And The New York Times, Aug. 14, 1976, reported "many signs that Earth may be headed for another ice age."

OK, you say, that's media. But what did our rational scientists say?

In 1974, the National Science Board announced: "During the last 20 to 30 years, world temperature has fallen, irregularly at first but more sharply over the last decade. Judging from the record of the past interglacial ages, the present time of high temperatures should be drawing to an end…leading into the next ice age."

You can't blame these scientists for sucking up to the fed's mantra du jour. Scientists live off grants. Remember how Galileo recanted his preaching about the earth revolving around the sun? He, of course, was about to be barbecued by his leaders. Today's scientists merely lose their cash flow. Threats work.

In 2002 I stood in a room of the Smithsonian. One entire wall charted the cooling of our globe over the last 60 million years. This was no straight line. The curve had two steep dips followed by leveling. There were no significant warming periods. Smithsonian scientists inscribed it across some 20 feet of plaster, with timelines.

Last year, I went back. That fresco is painted over. The same curve hides behind smoked glass, shrunk to three feet but showing the same cooling trend. Hey, why should the Smithsonian put its tax-free status at risk? If the politicians decide to whip up public fear in a different direction, get with it, oh ye subsidized servants. Downplay that embarrassing old chart and maybe nobody will notice.

Sorry, I noticed.

It's the job of elected officials to whip up panic. They then get re-elected. Their supporters fall in line.

Al Gore thought he might ride his global warming crusade back toward the White House. If you saw his movie, which opened showing cattle on his farm, you start to understand how shallow this is. The United Nations says that cattle, farting and belching methane, create more global warming than all the SUVs in the world. Even more laughably, Al and his camera crew flew first class for that film, consuming 50% more jet fuel per seat-mile than coach fliers, while his Tennessee mansion sucks as much carbon as 20 average homes.

His PR folks say he's "carbon neutral" due to some trades. I'm unsure of how that works, but, maybe there's a tribe in the Sudan that cannot have a campfire for the next hundred years to cover Al's energy gluttony. I'm just not sophisticated enough to know how that stuff works. But I do understand he flies a private jet when the camera crew is gone.

The fall of Saigon in the '70s may have distracted the shrill pronouncements about the imminent ice age. Science's prediction of "A full-blown, 10,000 year ice age," came from its March 1, 1975 issue. The Christian Science Monitor observed that armadillos were retreating south from Nebraska to escape the "global cooling" in its Aug. 27, 1974 issue.

That armadillo caveat seems reminiscent of today's tales of polar bears drowning due to glaciers disappearing.

While scientists march to the drumbeat of grant money, at least trees don't lie. Their growth rings show what's happened no matter which philosophy is in power. Tree rings show a mini ice age in Europe about the time Stradivarius crafted his violins. Chilled Alpine Spruce gave him tighter wood so the instruments sang with a new purity. But England had to give up the wines that the Romans cultivated while our globe cooled, switching from grapes to colder weather grains and learning to take comfort with beer, whisky and ales.

Yet many centuries earlier, during a global warming, Greenland was green. And so it stayed and was settled by Vikings for generations until global cooling came along. Leif Ericsson even made it to Newfoundland. His shallow draft boats, perfect for sailing and rowing up rivers to conquer villages, wouldn't have stood a chance against a baby iceberg.

Those sustained temperature swings, all before the evil economic benefits of oil consumption, suggest there are factors at work besides humans.

Today, as I peck out these words, the weather channel is broadcasting views of a freakish and early snow falling on Dallas. The Iowa state extension service reports that the record corn crop expected this year will have unusually large kernels, thanks to "relatively cool August and September temperatures." And on Jan. 16, 2007, NPR went politically incorrect, briefly, by reporting that "An unusually harsh winter frost, the worst in 20 years, killed much of the California citrus, avocados and flower crops."

To be fair, those reports are short-term swings. But the longer term changes are no more compelling, unless you include the ice ages, and then, perhaps, the panic attempts of the 1970s were right. Is it possible that if we put more CO2 in the air, we'd forestall the next ice age?

I can ask "outrageous" questions like that because I'm not dependent upon government money for my livelihood. From the witch doctors of old to the elected officials today, scaring the bejesus out of the populace maintains their status.

Sadly, the public just learned that our scientific community hid data and censored critics. Maybe the feds should drop this crusade and focus on our health care crisis. They should, of course, ignore the life insurance statistics that show every class of American and both genders are living longer than ever. That's another inconvenient fact.

Even MORE indoctrination in schools...

There are a LOT of videos here, with nice transcripts and everything. This stuff is too creepy.

ELEMENTARY EPIDEMIC: 11 Uncovered Videos Show School Children Performing Praises to Obama

The 2009 referendum on Obama

While Nancy Pelosi idiotically clams from our perspective, we won last night and other liberals are downplaying the election results, I think they are in a tail spin with the results of the VA and NJ elections. Both of those elections (overwhelmingly in VA) put Republicans into office. VA swept house with 18% and NJ did so with 5%.

This story summarizes the events in NY: "In the state of NY the Democrats claim a "big win". For example, here are a few fluffy stories downplaying the VA and NJ elections. It really shows how idiotic and delusional the liberal press is about things.

White House distances itself from Dem losses

The biggest loser: the national conservative machine

What Did the Election Mean?

This story states, "Owens defeated Conservative Doug Hoffman and Republican Dierdre Scozzafava (skoh-zuh-FAH'-vuh) in the heavily Republican 23rd congressional District in rural northern New York. Scozzafava abruptly withdrew Saturday and supported Owens. Hoffman has conceded the race.

With 88 percent of the precincts reporting, Owens had 49 percent of the vote to 46 percent for Hoffman. Scozzafava had 6 percent.

The race has been getting national attention, with some calling it a referendum on President Barack Obama and others saying it could help Republicans focus their message to attract more people to the party."

In another Huffington Post article, quote by Bill Owens, he states: "I don't believe the vast majority of voters in the 23rd District – be they Democrats or Republicans or independents – are looking at this as a referendum on Barack Obama or as a referendum on the Republican Party or the Democratic Party or Rush Limbaugh or any of that," he said. "I think the vast majority of voters in the 23rd are saying, `We had us a great congressman in Congressman McHugh. Which of these candidates can do a better job representing me in Washington?'"

I don't really know too much about that part of NY. I have always associated NY as mostly liberal, but that doesn't really surprise me. Here is a point, though. You had (r) Scozzafava versus (D) Owens. Scozzafava gets flack because she claims to be a Republican, but is far from that. She quits, and shows her left leaning colors by backing Owens. So when all was said and done, the conservative challenger Hoffman STILL managed to get 45%, compared to the 49% that Owens got. 45% isn't too shabby at all.

In addition, wikipedia states, "The 2009 special election for New York's 23rd congressional district was held on November 3, 2009, to select the successor to Republican John M. McHugh, who resigned as representative of New York's 23rd congressional district to become United States Secretary of the Army on September 21, 2009." In a year there is going to be another, regular election. Did the Dems win big? I don't think so. Maybe the next election they can make such claims, but it's just not that big of a deal. Who knows, that might provide more time for Hoffman to garner support?

The liberal media is doing their best to downplay and claim that the Republican victories were not significant or important. For example, this Washington Post story goes to great lengths to downplay the situation, summarizing it as not that big of a deal.

One thing mentioned in the Huffington Post quote: "[NY is not] looking at this as a referendum on Barack Obama or as a referendum on the Republican Party." I can see their point and why it is making national headlines. Where the press is downplaying IS that the VA and NJ election results ARE a referendum on Barack Obama.

The 2 other major elections, NJ and VA, turned out to be a bludgeoning for the Democrats. More importantly, the 2 democratic candidates had Obama campaigning on their behalf. Deeds (VA) had Obama's support by campaigning for him. In addition, in New Jersey, Republican Chris Christie beat out Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine, even though Obama campaigned heavily for the incumbent in the closing days of the race.

The funny thing is, the VP Joe Biden was the one who supported the only winner of the lot for the Dems. Obama pretty much screwed the pooch in VA and NJ.

While exit poles stated that it was more concern about the economy, you need to remember that the job of fixing this economy has been Obamas, and he has fallen short on getting big things resolved. Too many of the administrations "successes" are a bad joke. For example, that $4K rebate on a trade in during the program actually turned out to cost $24K per car to the tax payer. Can't polish a turd there.

People might just be sick and tired of Obama's ineffective policies, and the Nov. 2009 elections show that. In addition, his job approval rating is reflecting that people are out of that "hopey, changy haze".

I don't think he's a bad President, I just wish that his policies didn't reflect the wishes of the progressive liberals trying to push these massive government (and sometimes Marxist) programs.

Marble mouthed Barney Frank, liberal POS

The audacity of this idiot who has never had a job outside of the government to state "luxuriate in the purity of [Ralph Nader's] irrelevance" is a case example of the arrogance of liberals in government. That POS Frank only wishes we could hold a candle to Ralph Nader's long career. I consider Nader a true patriotic son of this country. There are few men who are as great as him.

Marble mouth goes on to state "we are trying on every front to increase the role of government in the regulatory area." Barney Frank is the same POS who pushed against Republican inquiries and regulatory actions against Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac prior to the housing market collapse.

"At least the Massachusetts Democrat is consistent. His record is close to perfect as a stalwart opponent of reforming the two companies, going back more than a decade."

LEAKED NETWORK MEMO REVEALS: Obama Controls Your Television Set

Great story here exposing some of the propaganda regarding media outlets push to support Obama-Messiah programs. I love to see adverting related to volunteerism and community service, but the partisan details the author brings up are a bit of concern. Where I have seen some annoying and utterly obvious things on television (mostly NBC), it's good to know this type of stuff so you can recognize the partisan bullshit.

More indoctrination in schools...

"Barak Hussein Obama said we should lend a hand to make this country great again...he said we must be fair today...equal work means equal pay"...Uh, ya this is messed up!

Here is some background on it:

Burlington, NJ – In a school district not too far away, children are being led in prayer and song to praise our glorious leader Barack Obama in a homegrown medley sung to the music of “Jesus Loves the Children”, repeatedly chanting praises to our President in a religiously cultish eerie manner. In the song the children chant ”Barack Hussein Obama He says equal work is equal pay”

Equal work for equal pay was a common theme for the 1940’s ”The Daily Worker”, which was the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Great Britain and has resonated since in socialist and communist political circles worldwide, now a Presidential slogan used frequently by President Obama.

What is more unnerving is the manner of indoctrination these children are being subjected to by school teachers using repetitive instruction to burn the image of Obama as a supreme being beyond the role of just being President of the United States in a fashion similar to those used by Stalinist Russian children and Hitler Youth of the 1940’s.

The school is the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, N.J. just 40 minutes southwest of Jackson. What do you think of children being taught to idolize and glorify President Obama? Would you approve of this song in Jackson’s Schools?

Socialist indoctrination in schools

I think the video speaks for itself, and the refutation of the video is excellent. What really concerns me things like this video is a "sleeper hit in classrooms across the nation." While this information should definitely be out there, I do hope that schools bother to show any sort of contrast. I have to give the guy HowTheWorldWorks who refuted points in "The Story of Stuff," he did a magnificent job. I am glad he made his refutation available for us all to see.

Based on this..."More than 7,000 schools, churches and others have ordered a DVD version, and hundreds of teachers have written Ms. Leonard to say they have assigned students to view it on the Web. It has also won support from independent groups that advise teachers on curriculum choices. Facing the Future, a curriculum developer for schools in all 50 states, is drafting lesson plans based on the video. And Ms. Leonard has a contract with Simon & Schuster to write a book based on the video"...I need to ask, are educators being responsible enough to show both sides of the story?

I take a wikipedia quote on Annie Leonard to summarize "The Story of Stuff"...Despite praise, the validity of the film has been debunked in the footnotes for the film itself.

Below is a NY times fluff story about this video, and where my quotes came from.

Democrats Target Bank Overdraft Charges
Bailed-Out Firms Lean More Heavily on Fees
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/20/AR2009092002879.html

I sent the following letter to the editor...

Dear Editor:

I find it quite humorous that Democrats in Congress are acting like Prince Valiant charging in to save a princess when it comes to their introduction of legislation pointed out in the 9/21 article "Democrats Target Bank Overdraft Charges." This is coming from Congress, which was involved in "rubbergate" in the early 90s. That was the House Banking Scandal netted a bunch of congressmen from both parties, the top 20 being Democrats. Fast forward to 2009, and we have Congress that could not manage their own overdraft problems telling banks what to do.

The nice thing about the free market is that if I do not like the services of one bank, I can do my business with a different bank. Also, it helps that consumers read the fine print of the contract when they open an account with their bank. Honestly, it just takes simple school learned math skills, and looking into getting overdraft protection from your bank. We do not need Congress legislating a smack down on banks, I think of rubbergate and grin at the irony.

*Not that I have any love for banks who were bailed out, but the ludicrousness exhibited by liberals in Congress crack me up.

Pelosi: I'm clueless about cash cut-off

By GEOFF EARLE and DAPHNE RETTER, Post Correspondents

Last Updated: 9:07 AM, September 17, 2009

Posted: 3:49 AM, September 17, 2009

WASHINGTON -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said yesterday she is clueless about an amendment to prohibit government funds for embattled ACORN, although it overwhelmingly passed the Senate Monday and the White House is calling for the group to be held accountable.

"I don't even know what they passed," Pelosi told The Post yesterday. "What did they do? They defunded it?"

The amendment to suspend housing grants was a stunning blow to the community-activist group -- and came as some Democrats and the White House have been backing away from the group.

The vote was preceded by the release of videos by conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute soliciting -- and receiving -- tips from ACORN employees about how to shield income, avoid taxes and set up a brothel.

The issue now goes to a House-Senate conference committee for a spending bill. Its fate is up to Democratic leaders, particularly Pelosi, since the House passed no such provision.

Some fellow lawmakers were surprised that Pelosi wasn't following the issue.

"I think that she's not focused on the issue of corruption," said Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who has been hammering ACORN.

The grasshopper and the ant

OLD VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, 'We shall overcome.' Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ants food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010 .

Remembering 9/11

9/11 National Day of Service...this is what our liberal Government has turned the most tragic day in my lifetime into.

Their fancy website explains what it is: http://www.911dayofservice.org/

On the site they claim their claim is to ultimately honor the victims of 9/11. Is it? Or this Government mandated day an attempt to sugar coat and skew history. I don't acknowledge this ridiculous fluff being associated with this tragedy. The context of 9/11 should ALWAYS be focused on the victims, their families, and catching those responsible for doing it.

I don't need crap like a National Day of Service to convince me to volunteer my time and money to causes I care about. I think what this Government did is disgusting. I do not like this politicizing of awful, tragic events.

I want to shout out to the "new media", those people who side step traditional media and "mainstream media" outlets who put together such wonderful works as above. I realize the internet has a lot of crap that needs to be sifted through, but even a simple youtube search will reveal wonderful multimedia pieces dedicated to the victims of 9/11. The second video I came across a few years after 9/11. I take time to watch it every year.

National Day of Service? What the hell is that? This is the same thing that comes from the liberals in government that is crying foul about the "abusive" treatment of terror suspects and whom seek appeasement with people who hate us. While I do need to omit Obama's recent policy to uphold some of the existing mandates of the previous administration, such as closing gitmo. To a certain extent, pandering to the extreme anti-war left apparently is not such a good thing. I do appreciate a few centrist things he attempts to do. For example, Obama's involvement with Matt Flavin as director of the new White House Office of Veterans and Wounded Warrior Policy is top notch.

The extreme left politicians in congress and the senate are another thing. Their feverish approach to find and prosecute things such as, "female interrogators tried to break Muslim detainees at the U.S. prison camp in Guantanamo Bay by sexual touching, wearing miniskirts and thong underwear and in one case smearing a Saudi man’s face with fake menstrual blood, according to an insider’s written account," precedes showing the struggle our military goes though on a daily basis, or any of the positive things they actually do. Reading the Army Times is vastly different to reading liberal blogs or some mainstream news sites. (Quote from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6876549/) These liberals are virtually blame America first for all of the ills in the world, and we are the great oppressors. While historically it IS important to know the skeletons in the closet of hour history, these liberals see nothing good.

I was infuriated when that POS Rep. Jack Murtha's quick accusation that marines in Iraq has "killed innocent civilians in cold blood.” While it might have been a knee-jerk reaction, soldiers serving in a war zone do not need to hear a politician who is an ex-Marine himself say such incendiary remarks. The investigation of those allegations proved no cover up, but the damage to moral done by Murtha was already done.

There is a VAST difference between Democrats of the past versus liberals of today. Anti-military is inherently more noble and morally superior to pro-military to them (http://therawness.com/the-problem-with-democrats-the-progressive-liberal-moral-continuum/), and that itself is a huge problem. Woodrow Wilson was a Democrat who went into World War I. Franklin D. Roosevelt was a Democrat who drove the US to fight in World War II, and was responsible for the internment of the Japanese. While apologies were necessary for that, what I am pointing out here is how the Democratic party has changed vastly for the worse with the liberal mindset in the party. Roosevelt did what he had to do, and didn't put up with any crap with taking charge and utilizing American industry and man power.

With all of their appeasement, persecution of our own, and blame America first, I wonder if they even realize that those Islamic radical terrorists who attacked us on 9/11 hate them. They do not see Americans along the basis of color or political affiliation. They'd just assume since you are an American, you are an infidel and an enemy. I think that notion, and the acts of liberal attempts at the revisionist sugar coating of history, is what makes liberalism a dangerous and divisive thing in our country. 9/11 National Day of Service? Whatever.

ACORN fires 2 after hidden-camera footage aired

Sometimes Glen Beck is over the top and can be over sensational and exaggerate a lot. I got to admit he does have an entertaining and informative show. His ratings reflect his popularity, both positive and negative-but it brings people to viewing his show regardless. I do appreciate his efforts to bring down Van Jones, and his latest bombshell was just that.

This has to do with ACORN, this particular story is ACORN fires 2 after hidden-camera footage aired
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9AKORB81&show_article=1

Here is the video of it, this is the original from the creator.

Despite editing, or any spin any news organization tries to make with this, the ACORN employees own words implicate ACORN in a manner that is a complete shock to me. Their blatant violation of the law is a good example of this organization, and how corrupt they are at all levels. What is most shocking is their attitude towards underage prostitution and human trafficking. I hope the book gets thrown at ACORN. What concerns me is the Obama administration has close ties with ACORN. Just google their name and you can find many mainstream news articles on voter registration fraud and whistle blowers outing the disgusting criminal elements of ACORN.

What I found interesting was something that Glen Beck said, he said other media outlets are so sided they need to be dragged kicking and screaming to report stories that go against the Obama administration or anything associated with him. When I was watching CNN talk about the story this morning, I could really see what he meant. The angle was very minimal and vague, and they only reported what they had to on it. The images of the ACORN employees are blurred out (on Fox News story as well), but a simple internet search shows the actual video and gives the names of those loosers.

Here is is:
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/10/acorn.prostitution/

For comparison sake, here the the Fox News one:
2 ACORN Employees Fired, Could Face Criminal Charges
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,549001,00.html

Also, what cracks me up is CNN's use of "those conservatives!", such as "...posted online Thursday by James O'Keefe, a conservative activist. He was joined on the video by another conservative, Hannah Giles." Oh no! Those conservative activists!

If one thing sticks out with both stories, it's the fox story mentioning the legal ramifications of the ACORN employees mentioned by Judge Andrew Napolitano, FOX News senior judicial analyst. I have heard Napolitano in many instances, and have become a fan of his analysis. Not in this instance, but in his general emphasis on constitutional validity and context he uses to frame various issues.

While I might be giving Beck some credit, I also need to include this about him. It's a great reminder to not adhere to EVERYTHING you watch or read :) John Stewart rocks!

South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie"

When I was watching the address I wondered who yelled that. It was said when Obama was bringing up the point that health care legislation won't support illegal immigrants. South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie" after Obama said extending health care to all Americans would not mean insuring illegal immigrants.

While Biden states the outburst has "demeaned the institution," and other legislatures have complained about it, "There'll be time enough to consider whether or not we ought to make it clear that that action is unacceptable in the House of Representatives," House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said late Wednesday on WTOP radio when asked about possible punishment for Wilson. "I've talked to Republican members who share that view." In all honesty, it's politics as usual. Here are Dems booing Bush at State Of The Union address.

Healthcare-reform opponent says bit-off finger could not be re-attached

Brought to us from moveon.org supporters!

A healthcare-reform opponent whose finger was partially bitten off Wednesday during a Thousand Oaks rally said today that doctors could not re-attach the severed section.

William Rice, 65, of Newbury Park also confirmed reports that he threw the first punch in the confrontation that claimed part of his left pinky.

“When he got in my personal space, I popped him in the nose,” Rice said. “I felt like I had no choice other than to defend myself.”

The incident was reported at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday at Lynn Road and Hillcrest Drive, where more than 100 people gathered for a pro-healthcare reform vigil organized by Moveon.org.

About 15 people opposed to President Barack Obama’s proposed healthcare reform stood across the street from Moveon.org’s group. Members of Code Pink: Women for Peace also were there, authorities said.

The finger-biting incident occurred after Rice became involved in a heated discussion with a member of Code Pink, sheriff’s Capt. Ross Bonfiglio said.

After the argument, Rice returned to where his own group was standing. A man from Moveon.org’s area then walked over to the opponents and verbally confronted Rice, allegedly calling him names and acting aggressively, Bonfiglio said.

Rice later told investigators he felt threatened by the man and punched him in the nose, Bonfiglio said. The punch set off a fist fight between the two men, during which the tip of Rice’s left pinky finger was bitten off, Bonfiglio said.

Rice drove himself to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Another man found the bitten-off portion of the finger and brought it to Rice at the hospital, Bonfiglio said.

Doctors were not able to re-attach Rice’s finger.

Doctors told Rice the finger, severed near the second knuckle, would not survive because it had been cut by a human bite, he said in a phone interview today.

Rice said he did not initially plan to participate in any demonstration Wednesday. He was driving by the vigil when he spotted Code Pink members, and he stopped to see if they were protesting the military, he said. Rice has a son who is an officer in the Marine Corps.

After a brief conversation with Code Pink members, Rice said, he was satisfied they were not protesting the military. He was leaving when a man who seemed “deranged” approached and called him an “idiot,” he said.

Rice said he felt like the man had singled him out because he was the “easiest target.” But the incident happened quickly, he said, and he doesn’t clearly remember everything that preceded the altercation.

Scott Bush, 43, of Thousand Oaks said he was standing with Rice in the group opposed to healthcare reform when a man walked from the Moveon.org group across the street and over a traffic island toward them.

Bush said the man asked the group if they were for a public health insurer option, and they responded “no.” The man then singled out Rice and asked him why, according to Bush. When Rice responded that he didn’t want the government involved in anything, the man came to within 3 feet of Rice and yelled, “You’re an idiot,” Bush said.

Bush said Rice then hit the man in a defensive move. The man then pulled Rice into the street, according to Bush.

After a fight that lasted only a few seconds, Bush said, he heard Rice say, “He bit my finger off,” and he saw a stump.

Bush said he later found the roughly 1-inch piece of Rice’s finger next to the traffic island about 20 feet away.

The suspect fled the scene, authorities said. He was described as a short man with a medium build, wearing a blue cap, black shirt and black shorts. He remained at large this morning.

While who threw the first punch is not in dispute, much about what happened before and after remained unclear today, sheriff’s Detective Eric Buschow said.

Investigators had not determined, for example, if the man intended to bite off Rice’s finger, Buschow said.

Authorities did not consider the man a criminal suspect this morning and were not looking to arrest him, said the detective.

“We want him to come forward so we can talk to him. We want to hear his side,” Buschow said.

The Last of The Kennedy Dynasty

From an e-mail I received.

As soon as his cancer was detected, I noticed the immediate attempt
At the "canonization" of old Teddy Kennedy by the mainstream
Media. They are saying what a "great American" he is. I say,
let's get a couple things clear & not twist the facts to change the
Real history.

1. He was caught cheating at Harvard when he attended it. He was
Expelled twice, once for cheating on a test, and once for paying a
Classmate to cheat for him.

2. While expelled, Kennedy enlisted in the Army, but mistakenly
Signed up for four years instead of two. Oops! The man can't count
To four! His father, Joseph P. Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to
England (a step up from bootlegging liquor into the US from Canada
During prohibition), pulled the necessary strings to have his
Enlistment shortened to two years, and to ensure that he served in
Europe, not Korea , where a war was raging. No preferential
Treatment for him! (like the charge that President Bush received).

3. Kennedy was assigned to Paris , never advanced beyond the rank of
Private, and returned to Harvard upon being discharged. Imagine a
Person of his "education" NEVER advancing past the rank of Private!

4. While attending law school at the University of Virginia, he was
Cited for reckless driving four times, including once when he was
Clocked driving 90 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood
With his headlights off after dark.. Yet his Virginia driver's
License was never revoked. Coincidentally, he passed the bar exam
In 1959. Amazing!

5. In 1964, he was seriously injured in a plane crash and
Hospitalized for several months. Test results done by the hospital
At the time he was admitted had shown he was legally intoxicated.
The results of those tests remained a "state secret" until in the
1980's when the report was unsealed. Didn't hear about that from
The unbiased media, did we?

6. On July 19, 1969, Kennedy attended a party on Chappaquiddick
Island in Massachusetts. At about 11:00 PM, he borrowed his
Chauffeur's' keys to his Oldsmobile limousine and offered to give a
Ride home to Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker. Leaving the
Island via an unlit bridge with no guard rail, Kennedy steered the
Car off the bridge, flipped, and into Poucha Pond.

7. He swam to shore and walked back to the party passing several
Houses and a fire station. Two friends then returned with him to
The scene of the accident. According to their later testimony,
They told him what he already knew - that he was required by law to
Immediately report the accident to the authorities. Instead
Kennedy made his way to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to
Sleep. Kennedy called the police the next morning and by then the
Wreck had already been discovered. Before dying Kopechne had
Scratched at the upholstered floor above her head in the upside-
Down car. The Kennedy family began "calling in favors", ensuring
That any inquiry would be contained. Her corpse was whisked out-of-
State to her family before an autopsy could be conducted.
Further details are uncertain, but after the accident Kennedy says
He repeatedly dove under the water trying to rescue Kopechne and he
Didn't call police because he was in a state of shock. It is
Widely assumed Kennedy was drunk, and he held off calling police in
Hopes that his family could fix the problem overnight. Since the
Accident Kennedy's "political enemies" have referred to him as the
distinguished Senator from Chappaquiddick. He pleaded guilty to
Leaving the scene of an accident, and was given a SUSPENDED
SENTENCE OF TWO MONTHS.

Kopechne's family received a small payout from the Kennedy's
Insurance policy and never sued. There was later an effort to have
Her body exhumed and autopsied, but her family successfully fought
Against this in court, and Kennedy's family paid their attorney's
Bills.... A "token of friendship"?

8. Kennedy has held his Senate seat for more than forty years, but
Considering his longevity, his accomplishments seem scant. He
Authored or argued for legislation that ensured a variety of civil
Rights, increased the minimum wage in 1981, made access to health
Care easier for the indigent, funded Meals on Wheels for fixed-
Income seniors, and is widely held as the "standard-bearer for
Liberalism". In his very first Senate roll he was the floor
Manager for the bill that turned U.S.Immigration policy upside down
and opened the floodgate for Immigrants from third world countries.

9. Since that time, he has been the prime instigator and author of
Every expansion of an increase in immigration up to and including
The latest attempt to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Not to
Mention the pious grilling he gave the last two Supreme Court
Nominees, as if he was the standard bearer for the nation in
matters of what’s right. What a pompous ass!

10. He is known around Washington as a public drunk, loud,
boisterous, and very disrespectful to ladies. JERK is a better
description than "great American". "A blond in every pond" is his
motto.

I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama

I seriously doubt Hollywood actors will live up to their "pledges," sad bit-o-lefty propaganda though. It was almost as bad as seeing the those Halliburton PR commercials after they got a bad rap after the Iraq invasion.

A school principal has apologized for showing a video at an assembly that a politically conservative group leader is calling “radical, leftist propaganda.”

Children at Eagle Bay Elementary School in Farmington were shown a short video called “I pledge” on Aug. 28. The video opens with an image of President Barack Obama and part of a speech in which he says, “Let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other.” The video then features celebrities making pledges about how they will help the president and the world — and that’s where some say the problem lies…

… Gayle Ruzicka, president of conservative Utah Eagle Forum, said the video was blatantly political. She said other offensive pledges included, “I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama,” “I pledge allegiance to the funk, to the united funk of funkadelica,” and pledges to not use plastic grocery bags and not flush the toilet after urinating.

“It’s very inappropriate to show a radical, leftist propaganda piece that political to children,” Ruzicka said. “If parents want their children to learn about those things and do them in the home, wonderful, fine, but it’s not the place of the school to show a one-sided propaganda piece to children without parents knowing about it.”

Cieslewicz said such values should be decided in the home, not at school.

Nancy Pelosi says "Damned the plebs! I know what's good for them!"

Kennedy health reform 'dream' will be real this year: Pelosi

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi vowed Wednesday to push through embattled health reform legislation this year following the death of Senator Ted Kennedy, who called the effort "the cause of my life".

"Ted Kennedy?s dream of quality health care for all Americans will be made real this year because of his leadership and his inspiration," Pelosi said in a statement.

President Barack Obama's sweeping plan to provide health insurance to all Americans, the top domestic priority of his administration, has met with stiff public and political opposition amid concerns over the costs of the plan and the role of government in providing medical care.

Pelosi, one of Obama's top Democratic allies, was reminding Americans that reforming the health care system was a cause dear to the heart of Kennedy, who died late Tuesday after losing a long battle with brain cancer.

"Sadly, Senator Kennedy left us exactly one year after he inspired the nation with his speech of optimism, vitality, and courage at the Convention in Denver," she said.

Cancer-stricken, Kennedy climbed on stage at the Democratic National Convention in August 2008 to give an emotional speech in support of Obama as he campaigned for the presidency and their shared commitment to health care reform.

"This is the cause of my life," Kennedy said of the 46 million Americans who do not have health insurance.

"The work begins anew. The hope rises again. And the dream lives on," said Kennedy in passing the torch to Obama.

Pelosi said that: "Today, with the passing of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the American people have lost a great patriot, and the Kennedy family has lost a beloved patriarch.

"Over a lifetime of leadership, Senator Kennedy?s statesmanship and political prowess produced a wealth of accomplishment that has improved opportunity for every American."

Larry Flynt!?!?!?

I LOVED the movie "The People vs. Larry Flynt" that had Woody Harrelson and Courtney Love in it. I came across this article he wrote. While controversial, this guy certainly stands up for what he believes in, and I can totally respect that.

Common Sense 2009

The American government -- which we once called our government -- has been taken over by Wall Street, the mega-corporations and the super-rich. They are the ones who decide our fate. It is this group of powerful elites, the people President Franklin D. Roosevelt called "economic royalists," who choose our elected officials -- indeed, our very form of government. Both Democrats and Republicans dance to the tune of their corporate masters. In America, corporations do not control the government. In America, corporations are the government.

This was never more obvious than with the Wall Street bailout, whereby the very corporations that caused the collapse of our economy were rewarded with taxpayer dollars. So arrogant, so smug were they that, without a moment's hesitation, they took our money -- yours and mine -- to pay their executives multimillion-dollar bonuses, something they continue doing to this very day. They have no shame. They don't care what you and I think about them. Henry Kissinger refers to us as "useless eaters."

But, you say, we have elected a candidate of change. To which I respond: Do these words of President Obama sound like change?

"A culture of irresponsibility took root, from Wall Street to Washington to Main Street."
There it is. Right there. We are Main Street. We must, according to our president, share the blame. He went on to say: "And a regulatory regime basically crafted in the wake of a 20th-century economic crisis -- the Great Depression -- was overwhelmed by the speed, scope and sophistication of a 21st-century global economy."

This is nonsense.

The reason Wall Street was able to game the system the way it did -- knowing that they would become rich at the expense of the American people (oh, yes, they most certainly knew that) -- was because the financial elite had bribed our legislators to roll back the protections enacted after the Stock Market Crash of 1929.

Congress gutted the Glass-Steagall Act, which separated commercial lending banks from investment banks, and passed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, which allowed for self-regulation with no oversight. The Securities and Exchange Commission subsequently revised its rules to allow for even less oversight -- and we've all seen how well that worked out. To date, no serious legislation has been offered by the Obama administration to correct these problems.

Instead, Obama wants to increase the oversight power of the Federal Reserve. Never mind that it already had significant oversight power before our most recent economic meltdown, yet failed to take action. Never mind that the Fed is not a government agency but a cartel of private bankers that cannot be held accountable by Washington. Whatever the Fed does with these supposed new oversight powers will be behind closed doors.

Obama's failure to act sends one message loud and clear: He cannot stand up to the powerful Wall Street interests that supplied the bulk of his campaign money for the 2008 election. Nor, for that matter, can Congress, for much the same reason.

Consider what multibillionaire banker David Rockefeller wrote in his 2002 memoirs:

"Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure -- one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it."

Read Rockefeller's words again. He actually admits to working against the "best interests of the United States."

Need more? Here's what Rockefeller said in 1994 at a U.N. dinner: "We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis, and the nations will accept the New World Order." They're gaming us. Our country has been stolen from us.

Journalist Matt Taibbi, writing in Rolling Stone, notes that esteemed economist John Kenneth Galbraith laid the 1929 crash at the feet of banking giant Goldman Sachs. Taibbi goes on to say that Goldman Sachs has been behind every other economic downturn as well, including the most recent one. As if that wasn't enough, Goldman Sachs even had a hand in pushing gas prices up to $4 a gallon.

The problem with bankers is longstanding. Here's what one of our Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson, had to say about them:

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation, and then by deflation, the banks and the corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their father's conquered."

We all know that the first American Revolution officially began in 1776, with the Declaration of Independence. Less well known is that the single strongest motivating factor for revolution was the colonists' attempt to free themselves from the Bank of England. But how many of you know about the second revolution, referred to by historians as Shays' Rebellion? It took place in 1786-87, and once again the banks were the cause. This time they were putting the screws to America's farmers.

Daniel Shays was a farmer in western Massachusetts. Like many other farmers of the day, he was being driven into bankruptcy by the banks' predatory lending practices. (Sound familiar?) Rallying other farmers to his side, Shays led his rebels in an attack on the courts and the local armory. The rebellion itself failed, but a message had been sent: The bankers (and the politicians who supported them) ultimately backed off. As Thomas Jefferson famously quipped in regard to the insurrection: "A little rebellion now and then is a good thing. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Perhaps it's time to consider that option once again.

I'm calling for a national strike, one designed to close the country down for a day. The intent? Real campaign-finance reform and strong restrictions on lobbying. Because nothing will change until we take corporate money out of politics. Nothing will improve until our politicians are once again answerable to their constituents, not the rich and powerful.

Let's set a date. No one goes to work. No one buys anything. And if that isn't effective -- if the politicians ignore us -- we do it again. And again. And again.

The real war is not between the left and the right. It is between the average American and the ruling class. If we come together on this single issue, everything else will resolve itself. It's time we took back our government from those who would make us their slaves.

Romney: Liberals given too much say in health care

I have always liked Romney, below is a reason why. While his health care efforts for the state of Massachusetts have had mixed results, I appreciate his efforts in general.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney says President Barack Obama is struggling to get a health care bill because he has been too deferential to the liberal wing of his party.

Interviewed from Boston Thursday on CBS's "The Early Show," Romney said he thinks the president must shoulder the blame for the gridlocked situation surrounding health care legislation. He said Obama gave too much influence to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others.

Romney said that "if the president wants to get something done, he needs to put aside the extreme liberal wing of his party." Romney, who ran for the Republican presidential nod last year, said Medicare and Medicaid already account for virtually half of health care and there shouldn't be any greater federal role.

Gallup Poll

Polls and statistical data can always be manipulated to show metrics in favor of one thing or another. Regardless, the story is notable.

Conservatives Now Outnumber Liberals in All 50 States, Says Gallup Poll
Monday, August 17, 2009
By Terence P. Jeffrey, Editor-in-Chief

(CNSNews.com) - Self-identified conservatives outnumber self-identified liberals in all 50 states of the union, according to the Gallup Poll.

At the same time, more Americans nationwide are saying this year that they are conservative than have made that claim in any of the last four years.

In 2009, 40% percent of respondents in Gallup surveys that have interviewed more than 160,000 Americans have said that they are either “conservative” (31%) or “very conservative” (9%). That is the highest percentage in any year since 2004.

Only 21% have told Gallup they are liberal, including 16% who say they are “liberal” and 5% who say they are “very liberal.”

Thirty-five percent of Americans say they are moderate.

During Republican President George W. Bush’s second term, the number of self-identified conservatives as measured by Gallup dropped, riding at a low of 37% as recently as last year.

According to new data released by Gallup on Friday, conservatives outnumber liberals in all 50 states--including President Obama’s home state of Illinois--even though Democrats have a significant advantage over Republicans in party identification in 30 states.

“In fact, while all 50 states are, to some degree, more conservative than liberal (with the conservative advantage ranging from 1 to 34 points), Gallup's 2009 party ID results indicate that Democrats have significant party ID advantages in 30 states and Republicans in only 4,” said an analysis of the survey results published by Gallup.

“Despite the Democratic Party's political strength-- seen in its majority representation in Congress and in state houses across the country--more Americans consider themselves conservative than liberal,” said Gallup’s analysis.

“While Gallup polling has found this to be true at the national level over many years, and spanning recent Republican as well as Democratic presidential administrations, the present analysis confirms that the pattern also largely holds at the state level,” said Gallup. “Conservatives outnumber liberals by statistically significant margins in 47 of the 50 states, with the two groups statistically tied in Hawaii, Vermont, and Massachusetts.”

Massachusetts, Vermont and Hawaii are the most liberal states, even though conservatives marginally outrank liberals even there. In Massachusetts, according to Gallup, 30% say they are conservative and 29% say they are liberal, a difference that falls within the margin of error for the state. In Vermont, 29% say they are conservative and 28% say they are liberal, which also falls within the survey’s margin of error for the state. In Hawaii, 29% say they are conservative and 24% say they are liberal, which falls within the margin of error for that state.

In one non-state jurisdiction covered by the survey, liberals did outnumber conservatives. That was Washington, D.C., where 37% said they were liberal, 35% said they were moderate and 23% said they were conservative.

Even in New York and New Jersey, conservatives outnumber liberals by 6 percentage points, according to Gallup. In those states, 32% say they are conservative and 26% say they are liberal. In Connecticut, conservatives outnumber liberals by 7 points, 31% to 24%.

Alabama is the state that comes closest to a conservative majority. In that state, according to Gallup, 49% say they are conservative and 15% say they are liberal.

In President Obama’s home state of Illinois, conservatives outnumber liberals, 35% to 23%.

Gallup's results were derived from interviewing 160,236 American adults between Jan. 2, 2009 and June 30, 2009.

Even though conservatives outnumber liberals in all 50 states, in 21 of these states self-identified moderates outnumber conservatives, and in 4 states the percentage saying they are conservative and the percentage saying they are moderate is exactly the same.

The two states with the highest percentage of self-identified moderates are Hawaii and Rhode Island, where 43% say they are moderate.

For a ranking of all 50 states by the advantage that self-identified conservatives have over self-identified liberals see the Gallup analysis here.

Lost Woman

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her
altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,

"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an
hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air
balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet
above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude
and 100 degrees, 49 .09 minutes west longitude.

"She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically
correct. However, I have no idea what to do with your information, and
I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be an Obama Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

Obama fluffer at it again

Chris Mattews at his finest smarmy badgering.

The only violence I have seen thus at these town meetings was brought to us by SEIU. While the man attacked is actually an independent, it was pretty blatant that he was attacked by SEUI thugs. Service Employees International Union, whom "The SEIU has been involved in political campaigning for legislation backed by President Obama and the US Democratic Party. Its organizers have been alleged to have packed supposedly open meetings hosted by Democratic politicians with SEIU members[11]. On August 7th 2009 three members of the SEIU were accused of attacking a conservative protester, Kenneth Gladney, outside such a meeting[12]. One of the attackers, who was black, was heard using racial epithets to Mr Gladney who is also black. Mr Gladney was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. At least two of the six persons arrested were SEIU members, one white and one black, both males." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_Employees_International_Union

Plebs, take your health care reform as the government presents it!

How dare those plebs question the grand wisdom of congress and the president! Please report these "fishy" people to the white house at once!

I cannot believe the NERVE of these common folks getting in the way of our vaunted congress and president and protest health care reform. According to our glorious liberal leaders this rabble is simply people "who may be funded by industry interest groups." Do not take them seriously! Our leadership knows what is best for us, because we are too stupid to think for ourselves.

It is DISGUSTING to see how these people act. According to Nancy Pelosi these common rabble folks are carrying swastikas.

All of this protesting is manufactured rage brought to you by the the insurance companies who are putting plants into these town hall meetings. You'd think the Republicans are committing manufactured outrage by busing people into these town hall meetings, hiring rent-a-mobs, and doing community organizing! This is just AstroTurf. This is not any sort of grass roots effort in any way, shape, or form! The liberals have NEVER resorted to rent-a-mobs to push their agenda. Never would ACORN, Service Employees International Union, National Council of La Raza, Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), Parents, Families, & Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), AFLCIO, Code Pink, or those hooded sweat shirt bandanna wearing "pranksters" throwing molotov cocktails and burning the American flag resort to ANY of those methods!

Barbara Boxer says this is ALL planned, so it IS TRUE!

Liberal organizations have NEVER sent rent-a-mobs anywhere to push their agendas, attended town hall meetings out of their district, or worked to get people outraged on a pressing issues.

Liberals would NEVER do such things, and the demonization of these people at these town hall meetings in necessary because liberal politicians so it is so! The position of a Senator, Congressmen, or President is something to be revered and not questioned!

Also, how dare you distribute a picture of Obama as the joker! You are to respect the president. Liberals would never have portrayed Bush in such light, or protested Bush policy with such venomous nastiness!

I order to squelch these rabble rousers, the white house has officially reacted!

The White House is asking for our help. There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since the White House can't keep track of all of them, they are asking for our help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems a gross distortion or inaccurate, please take a moment and send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

In the above video, Linda Douglass, the Communications Director for the White House’s Health Reform Office, addresses one example that makes it look like the President intends to "eliminate" private coverage, when the reality couldn’t be further from the truth. http://www.mydd.com/story/2009/8/4/163850/9912

There you have your official notification from the most powerful office in this country to encourage snitching on those "un-American" people who dissent and spread misinformation about the Obama health care policy. Even though many of the liberal politicians didn't care to actually read the proposed legislation, they do not need to be questioned and know what is good for the people in general.

In addition, liberal groups would never resort to such hateful tactics! They never did anything like you see at those town hall meetings during the Bush years...NEVER!

The plebs at the these town hall meetings need to sit down and shut up! They need to stop this un-American dissent and take their health care reform as the government presents it!
